Choosing Your Subjects
This section has been designed to give you basic information about the courses on offer at Greenford Post 16 Centre. Before you make a choice we would strongly advise you to consider the following points.
The course you choose is for you, not your friends or anyone else but you, so be sure it is what you want.
Your choice post 16 is very important indeed. What you choose could affect your chances for certain careers or university courses so make sure you ask for advice. At Greenford, we have a very experienced post 16 team, who know a great deal about Higher Education and have strong connections with universities and colleges. Our best point, however, is that we are not afraid to admit when we don’t know something. We believe that sometimes it is better for us to seek expert advice, it is our intention to always try to give you accurate information.
A very important fact to remember is that if you enjoyed a subject in year 11 and were successful in it then you should strongly consider carrying it on. People always get the best grades when they enjoy studying rather than when they are forcing themselves to take a subject they don’t really like.
So read this brochure carefully. Mark out points and questions requiring more information. Consider what you can realistically do and where you might want to be when you have finished your course with us. Remember above all always seek advice.
