Dont be put off by the graduate feel to this site, as any young person ultimately pursing a degree course will benefit form its highly informative occupational pages. These are found in the Career Planning section and include a career overview, entry requirements, related occupations and hugely helpful case study pages, on how students used their degree in the workplace.
Brilliant Careers
The site is attractively presented and offers user an opportunity to complete a personality test on line, or download and complete later. Its not a fully diagnostic program, but may on occasions provide additional assessment. The Toolkit pages are particularly useful for students in their last year of A-levels, preparing a CV, or wanting help with job-hunting. The Get a Career section has some useful careers information and links to further sites, although not as comprehensive as other sources.
Career Development Site
The site aims to provide users of the National Grid for Learning with comprehensive support in developing and maintaining employability.
Careers A-Z
There is estimated to be 4,000 links from this portal with its simple, but effective A-Z search function. The course information tends to favour higher education links, and the books section links to the Amazon.co.uk, site rather the main career publishers or distributors.

Developed by Careersoft, this has useful links classified by job title and by higher education institution name.
Connexions Card
Currently this site is merging with the .com version. It contains a comprehensive Career Bank A-Z listing. There is a useful CV Builder facility for those registering on the site, and the developing Lifestyle section should appeal to young people. The labour market information provides a useful batch of statistics, insights into the changing world of work and the types of employment skills that are in demand. With a little tweaking such resources can compliment careers education programmes and enhance guidance knowledge.
DSW Careers
This site has been developed as a portal for a range of careers-related sites to exemplify what is possible.
An Internet Hotlist on Careers Provides a list of sites arranged under headings that relate in general terms to some of the key aims or learning outcomes of careers work.
The Virtual Careers Library
Hosted by Kings College London on behalf of the University of London Careers service, this is a useful portal site.
Young Scot
A new interactive youth portal web site for young people in Scotland.
